Member Spotlight: Gabrielle Restid
Hi there, Gabbie Restid, pleased to meet you. The desire and imaging of the waking dream that we're now living started 12 years ago amidst potted plants on a balcony high above the city of Kunming, China. As Micah's passion for the plant kingdom outgrew our balcony, my husband realized his yearning to go back to the land and soil; and I thought, "how fun!" One spiritual awakening later, we exited the micro-matrix of our religious social structure, started our first homestead in Missouri, recognized how much we missed the ocean (and that ticks and chiggers suck:), and heeded the call of home that brought us back to the PNW. If love does fuel the fire of the spiraling ethers, it certainly has been our transmitting utility in finding people and places that are grooving to the same beat as we are. The experience of buying our 20 acre homestead here in Oregon is a testament to the reality that trust and private agreement between the brotherhood of mankind can be a creative force free from societal "norms" of unnecessary taxation and big bank usury.
We asked her two questions:
- What ideas or projects in your own life are you curious or excited about currently?
The most recent emotional rebirthing that life has offered served to boost me from the allopathic medical model that I supported in the role of nurse and energy healer. In the process, I'm gaining clarity and vocabulary on how to express the mechanisms and underpinning of Law, and how to come into a trust relationship with Terrain, defined as: oneself, one's own nature, and all nature around us. In my new life on the farm, I'm humbled by the physical labor, changing seasons, trial and error, and constantly growing skill set required to mimic nature in a diversified system that thrives. Micah made it look so seamless as he applied his talents to building our homestead over the past 9 years. At the same time, I'm awed at the nurturing quality and quiet cadence of the wise trees that surround the gardens and meadows that grow me. To play in harmony with the divine symphony is an invitation for those with ears to listen; and I'm becoming attuned.
- What inspired you to join Humble Roots Ministry?
When I learned about HRM through Grant, it felt like a big cosmic, "YES!" to fulfill my desire for community. And wow, it just keeps getting better and better as I meet more members and learn about the collective initiatives that the group is manifesting. Education, regenerative agriculture, holistic health and the dynamic dance of co-creation through self-actualization all ring true as next steps in bringing forward, "the kingdom of heaven within." Micah and I are building our website: www.elementalenergyarts.com, and we'll be offering experiential opportunities, knowledge, and practical resources designed to stimulate soul growth so that vitality and well-being are the natural consequence of learning how to become our own best medicine.
